MRS (Medical Rescue Services)

This video was commissioned by MRS, a new service set up by the Mozambique government. As this is the country's first ambulance service, I was commissioned by the client to create a 30-40 second explainer video, demonstrating the role of an ambulance as well as how to call one on their upcoming app. I worked in conjunction with Solutions 17, who were responsible for the creation of the new MRS website.

The colour palette is derived from the colours of the MRS logo and current brand identity. The clients wanted a video which was professional and highly accessible, but still used bright colours to bring the area of Maputo to life. The characters are designed to be simple enough to be identifiable to anyone, while still encapsulating the population of Mozambique and being expressive and empathetic.

While creating this animation on my own (including storyboarding, sound and editing) was a huge job, I enjoyed the achievement and creative freedom of bringing this to life all the way from original concept to delivery. It's also extremely rewarding that in teaching people the role of MRS and how to call an ambulance, my animation will assist Medical Rescue Service in the vital and pioneering work they do to improve the quality of life of people.
